Here are some fundraising ideas used by others which may
come in handy. Part of the trick is
trying to make it as fun as possible.
Sausage sizzles - outside supermarkets
Christmas Hamper - contents donated by club members
Raffles
Tri Sports Challenge – surcharge to players taking part –
e.g. squash, tennis and badminton clubs or associations have a 3 way challenge
for a trophy
Video night – e.g. sleep over charge made and food donated
Dutch Auction – donated auction products start bidding high
& reduce
Garage Sales – donated products to sell
Monopoly Money Night – teams picked and play against each
other on club night. Bets made on points
and teams with monopoly money. Top 3
money earners win prizes at end of night or have a general auction for prizes.
Holding a tournament - inviting other clubs / associations
getting base costs funded and charging an entry fee
Quiz nights – e.g. University Challenge set up with teams
or small teams of 4 or Mastermind type 1 on 1 taking turns.
Free guest speakers - small charge to listen
Car rally - charge to enter prize donated
Dances - combining with another club / association
helps spread the workload
Chocolate making - then sell to members
Casino nights
Hire a picture hall - and sell tickets
Selling $50 coupon books
Craft nights - (craft stalls hire your hall space and you
charge people to attend)
Lucky shuttle dips - with spot prizes charge to enter draw
a shuttle out of a box – if has a colour or label on it win a prize – have lots
of small prizes.
Business house – approach businesses to enter a teams
tournament at your club and charge them (good membership drive also)
Trotting clubs – some trotting clubs allow you to have a
business sponsored sulky and then charge people to enter and have a go
Name the mascot competition – each person pays $1
to put in a name All names voted on most popular name wins and those who picked
that wins a prize – if more than one picked it draw out of the hat.
