Funding Dependency

It’s important to see funding as a way to be more independent.  A short term break to give you time to make sure your budget is in order and find new income streams or to fund big specific projects.

Things You Can Fund: shuttles, hall hire, coaching, trips for teams, uniforms for teams, maintenance, roadshows or mini roadshows, development squad training costs, administration officers, CEOs, development officers and more.

For Associations: check out your Regional Sports Trust.  Programs like CoachForce (funding of coach educators), Sports Force (funding of coaches in schools), Sports Future (funding of administrators) can all help.  Each trust will vary.

Simple Funding Tips

1) Make a 1 Pg Funding Plan – so you get funding in time

rather than a rush at the last minute.  See tool section.

2) Have Back Up Options - if rejected have another option

3) Apply 12 Weeks Prior – time literally is money this gives

you another 6 weeks should the 1st application be turned down.

4) Put Someone in Charge of Funding

5) Do Not Budget for Non Approved Funding

6) Take a Long Term View – avoid becoming dependent

on funding of core costs in the long term – short term is ok.

7) Get Letters of Support - from your parent body

and, if an association, from your local sports trust also.
